Psilocybin mushrooms harbor a range of chemical compounds, with the key and noteworthy compound being psilocybin. Psilocybin falls under the category of tryptamines and lacks psychoactive effects in isolation. Nonetheless, when metabolized within the body, it undergoes a process called dephosphorylation, transforming into psilocin.
